Perception of air quality in the city of Avellaneda

The perception of air quality in the city of Avellaneda is analyzed based on surveys administered to university students and neighbors and such perception is contrasted with results of measurements of PM10 particulate matter in representative sites carried out in March 2024. The results indicate that a large Part of those surveyed believe that the air quality in the city is good, which is consistent with the results of the PM10 sampling and with existing literature. However, greater female environmental sensitivity was evident, both among students and neighbors, a percentage of whom thought that the quality is fair to poor. Apart from gender, the stigma of the place is what could explain these differences.
