Relationships between morphodynamic, ecosystem indicators and erosion

Thirty-seven Buenos Aires and Patagonian beaches classified as urban, populated and rural were analyzed to explore the relationships between beach vulnerability, human-induced changes, management actions and environmental indicators such as storm buffering, coastal stability, wave energy dissipation, along with environmental quality, habitat, species, historical or geological legacy.
The relationships between the synthetic AED and the CAHEP indicators were considered. The results show positive correlations between all indicators, highlighting the strong integrative nature of CAHEP with respect to the dynamics and management of the coastal system.
