Educational technology could be understood as the use of emerging and existing technologies to enhance learning experiences in a variety of educational settings, such as science teaching and its applications. Educational technology approaches have evolved initially with the support of audiovisuals to current and diverse personalized resources on cell phones and computer networks, including various mobile and smart technologies, as well as virtual and augmented realities, immersive based environments, cloud resources, portable devices and geolocation. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated migration to virtual teaching and learning environments; however, in many cases a validated integration that has rarely even been proven in the various academic fields has not yet been achieved.
